Christmas event a Weisiger a success

Dear Editor,
Last Friday the Heart of Danville and the City of Danville welcomed Santa Claus to downtown Danville at the first ever Santa’s Winter Workshop & Tree Lighting at the new Weisiger Plaza. In my opinion, the event was a grand success, between the several hundred families that came out and celebrated with us and the first ever lighting of our brand new Christmas tree.
Not only was the event a success, it was a true community effort. Lexington Avenue Baptist Church, Girl Scout Troop 5147, the Boyle County Public Library, AmVets Post 123, Salvation Army, Community Arts Center, Danville Fire Department, Danville-Boyle County Humane Society, a Danville High School brass ensemble, Danville Dance Company’s Synergy Allstarz, Grace Sheene and art students from Danville High School and Boyle County Middle School all came together to put on the holiday celebration. Kids and parents alike had smiles on their faces, as we came together to share in the spirit of the holidays.
The Heart of Danville is thoroughly pleased that so many members of our community came out to enjoy the festivities, and for that we thank you!
