Joanne Mullins Dozier

1924-2016

Joanne Mullins Dozier, age 92, of Perryville, died on Dec. 16, 2016 in Berea, Kentucky. Born Nov. 2, 1924 in Pikeville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Martha Tackett Mullins and the widow of David Dozier.

She had been a member of Salt River Baptist Church and attended First Church of God. She was a graduate of Stanford High School and the Danville School of Practical Nursing. Joanne was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Haggin Memorial Hospital.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing and, through her card ministry, she sent love and thoughts to everyone. She was an artist and loved oil painting.

Joanne is survived by a son, Byron (Julie) Dozier of Richmond; and a daughter, Sandy (Charles) Hill of Perryville; three grandchildren, Kristi (Eric) Hillard, Justin (Emily) Allen, and Lauren (Alfonso) Gonzalez; and two great-grandchildren, Kasey Hillard and Bret Hillard.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19, 2016 at Stith Funeral Home. Rev. Kevin Cummins will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 19, 2016 at Stith Funeral Home.
