Alta Pearl Waters

1950-2017

Alta Pearl Waters, 66, passed away Monday. Jan. 9, 2017. Pearl was born July 14, 1950 in Boyle County, a daughter of the late Oscar and Hazel Lee Montgomery. She was the loving wife of Billy H. Waters for 49 years.

Pearl was a former finance clerk for the City of Danville, a lifetime member of AMVETS Auxiliary Post 123 and VFW Post 3634, both in Danville. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and as the wife of a career Navy man, she enjoyed travelling.

In addition to her husband Billy, Pearl is survived her daughter, Nancy Rose (Scott) Swift, and son, Derek Waters; grandson, Charles “Hunter” Swift; sister, Brenda Joyce Montgomery; and brother, Morris Jeffery Montgomery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wayne Montgomery.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 at Wilder Funeral Home Perryville. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday Jan. 11, 2017 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jack and Ronnie Waters, Doug Martin, Jeff Montgomery, Michael Coffman, and Walter Le Clair.
