1944-2016
Lynn Allan Trayner, age 72, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at his home.
A native of Mercer County, he was born on Feb. 21, 1944 to the late Martin Luther and Sadie Perkins Trayner.
He was a member of the Salt River Baptist Church, a Navy veteran and a retired employee of the Fishel Company.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Alice McDonald and Helen Wade; three brothers, Austin, Sherman and Howard Trayner; and two stepgrandchildren, Ericka and Bryan Kelty.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Boswell Trayner; stepson, Andy Matherly (Melynda); three stepdaughters, Shari Blanford (Eddie), Kim Kelty (Steve) and Lana Kelty (Ray) all of Springfield; 12 stepgrandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Decker (Howard) of Sun City, Florida; and two brothers, Ronald Trayner (Jane) of Midway and Rev. Morris Trayner (Roberta) of Danville.
Funeral services 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13 at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Morris Trayner and Rev. Zach Rankin, officiating.
Burial will be in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
