Vaughn Little speaks at NAACP celebration

- (Kerry Steinhofer/ksteinhofer@amnews.com) The Danville-Boyle County Branch of NAACP held their Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Monday with former Danville educator and football coach, Vaughn Little, associate director at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy for Excellence, Lexington as the guest speaker.
The Danville-Boyle County Branch of NAACP held their Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Monday at First Baptist Church.
Before the march, a special gospel service was held at the church. After the march, marchers and others gathered inside of the church to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Former Danville educator and football coach Vaughn Little was the guest speaker for the event. Little is the associate director at the Martin Luther King Jr. Academy for Excellence in Lexington.
“I just want everyone to know that it is so wonderful to have this opportunity to come to Danville,” he said. “I love this place. I enjoy Danville every day that I can.”
Little spoke to the audience about moving forward and coming together as a community.
“We have no time to stand back and stand still,” Little said.
Little challenged the audience to get involved and to make a difference.
“You can do something,” he said.
