Garden club to meet
Garden Club of Danville – 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the Boyle County Extension Service Office. The speaker will be club member, Sarah Wiltsee, discussing how to downsize your garden when age or inclination demand. Design: a design of your choice in an unusual container (one you always wanted to use). Horticulture: Foliage houseplant or any worthy specimen. Visitors and prospective members always welcome.
Republicans to have officers elections
The Boyle County Republican Party will hold precinct committee elections at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at Boyle County High School cafeteria.
The purpose of the elections are to:
• Elect precinct captain, co-captian, and youth captain who must be 40 years of age or younger. These officers must reside in the precinct in which they are elected.
• Elect county chair, vice-chair, secretary, treasurer and youth chair, which will be elected by the precinct officers.
All Republicans who were eligible to vote in the 2016 general election are allowed to participate and vote in the precinct committee elections. Everyone will be required to present a government-issued photo ID during registration.
