Miss Kentucky Laura Jones recently toured the greenhouse at Boyle County High School and spoke to Toni Myers’ veterinarian science class. Miss Kentucky works for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and travels the state addressing students. “I get to encourage people to get involved in programs like FFA.”
Jones said that the position and opportunity is special to her. “Kentucky’s roots are in farming and agriculture. Another one of my passions is eating healthy.” She was excited to see that Boyle’s greenhouse helps to nourish students by providing fresh lettuce to the cafeteria.
Jones previously claimed the title of Miss Danville before becoming Miss Kentucky 2016. She earned a top 12 spot in the Miss America pageant where she received the America’s Choice Award.
