A body found in a fire at a Casey County home Sunday has been identified.
Kentucky State Police say Brandi Nix, 25, of Burnside was killed in the fire at a Dry Fork Road residence.
KSP also identified the two other people who were badly burned in the fire — Nix’s 3-year-old daughter Arianna Nix and an adult, Jeremy Wilkerson, 33, of Windsor.
Arianna Nix and Wilkerson both remained hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday, according to KSP.
“The fire is believed to have started as the result of an electrical issue and no foul play is suspected,” a news release from KSP reads. “The investigation is ongoing.”
State police initially received a call from Casey County dispatch at 2:21 a.m. Sunday about the fire.
Wilkerson was airlifted from the scene and taken to the University of Louisville Hospital. Arianna Nix was airlifted to Kosair’s Children’s Hospital before being transferred to a burn unit in Cincinnati, according to KSP.
A state police arson investigator and the state Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the fire. An autopsy on Brandi Nix was performed in Frankfort Monday.
