Upset by white nationalist leaders? Call your U.S. senators and representative

Dear Editor,

What has happened to my country? I wake up each day to a new onslaught of “anti” executive orders (EO), Congressional actions and a powerlessness to stop any of it.

The first body blow came with the EO to build a wall along our southern border. We are at a net zero immigration with Mexico. Border officials know that we should not build a wall across the entire border as it is not practical in many locations. Where are the anti-debt Republicans when the administration tosses out a $12 billion-$15 billion price tag and there is no uproar?

Next was the “temporary” ban on Muslims (that is what it is) from seven countries and refugees entering this country. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), there was no immediate threat assessment or recommendation from DHS issued to the White House prior to this EO.

Even before 9/11, not a single death in the U.S. was caused by terrorists from the seven countries singled out in the EO. In fact, the majority of 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, which is not on the list and in which the president has business interests (coincidence?).

There was an effort to blame this list and “pause” on the Obama Administration. When two Iraqi refugees were arrested in Bowling Green and charged with assisting terrorist groups (there was no “massacre” — another lie), the administration slowed down entries while it improved the vetting process, but never put a “pause” on immigration or refugee admission.

Next came a little reported EO requiring DHS to “make public a comprehensive list of criminal actions committed by aliens” in Sanctuary Cities. This is not a list of convicted persons, but of anyone arrested. Those who know their history may see a similarity to the “criminal Jew” listings published by the papers in Nazi Germany. It is an attempt to create fear of the “other” as you associate “criminal” with names like Gonzalez and Khan.

This was all in a few days! I am deeply saddened by the white nationalist actions that have come from this administration. This is not my America! Please join me in standing against these actions by calling our representatives: Sens. McConnell and Paul and Rep. Guthrie. The Capitol switchboard number is (202) 225-3121; they will connect you to the different offices.
