Two arrested after vehicle stop in Danville

Two were arrested after being stopped by Danville Police about 11:18 p.m. on Main Street on Thursday.
Jeffrey D. Yankey, 33, and Patricia A. Becraft, 54, both of Danville were arrested on multiple counts.
Officer Toney Dollins stopped a 1997 White Saturn passenger car expired registration plates. His K-9 partner Petie alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle, according to the release.
A syringe containing a small amount of suspected heroin was located in the driver’s seat.
Yankey, the driver, was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, expired registration plates and failure to maintain insurance.
Becraft, a passenger, was arrested on two active Boyle County warrants.
Officer Adam Wilson assisted with the arrests.
