Boyle County Fiscal Court Personnel Committee — 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13 in room 106 at the courthouse.

Boyle County Board of Education — 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13 at the Boyle County High School library. Items on the agenda include notice of field trips, personnel actions and fuel quotes. There will also be a working session for: new Boyle County Middle School, hall of fame TV and softball dugout, and other regular business.

Architectural Heritage Board — 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Danville City Hall conference room. Items on the agenda include: annual election of officers; certificate of appropriateness for 131 South Second St., Sarah Cheatham, sign/logo cut out 1/2-inch expaned PVC mounted on 1/8th material and mounted with standoffs 60 inches by 36 inches; update on 311 West Main Street property, Ann Yager McCrosky; update on fiscal year 2017 grant, update on RFP for historic design guidelines and discussion of goals for 2017, Bridgette Lester.

Closure scheduled for Faulkner Lane in Boyle County

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that a temporary road closure is scheduled for Ky. 1896/Faulkner Lane in Boyle County from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 at milepoint 9.168. The closure is necessary for Norfolk Southern Railroad to perform repair operations on the railroad tracks.

All work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

Black history month exhibit

To celebrate Black History Month and the Pieceable Friends Quilt Exhibit, join the Arts Commission for a Gallery Talk on The Civil War and Underground Railroad Quilts: History or Mystery. The event is 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the McKinney Conference Center in Constitution Square. It is free and open to the public.

Norfolk Southern Railroad to perform maintenance at milepoint 350.17

HARRODSBURG — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that a temporary road closure is scheduled for Ky. 1989/Cornishville Road in Mercer County from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 at mile point 350.17. The closure is necessary for Norfolk Southern to perform maintenance on the railroad crossing.
