An overturned truck blocked traffic along the Danville Bypass at Denmark Drive Thursday morning, but only one person suffered minor injuries in the wreck.
According to Danville police, the wreck occurred around 10:30 a.m. when Danny Griffith, 56, of Mount Washington was traveling west along the bypass. An eastbound Suzuki XL7 SUV driven by Ronald Holcomb, 45, of Danville, turned left from the bypass toward Denmark Drive and pulled into the path of Griffith’s Chevrolet pickup, according to police.
“The impact forced the Suzuki into the center media and then Chevrolet truck, which had a flat bed trailer in tow, was turned over onto its left side,” a news release from police reads.
Griffith and a passenger were able to get out of the overturned truck before first responders arrived. Griffith was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center with a “hand laceration;” no other injuries were reported, according to police.
Danville Police Officer Clark Logan is the investigating officer; Boyle County EMS and Danville firefighters assisted at the scene.
