1937-2017
Jimmy Carl Adams, 79, of Danville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017. He was the widower of Frances Brewer Adams.
Jimmy was born July 7, 1937, in Casey County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Carl and Mae Fredrick Adams. Jimmy was a retired truck driver for ABF Freightline.
Jimmy was a member of Watts Chapel Baptist Church. He was a member of the Crab Orchard Masonic Lodge # 636 of F & AM. He also was a member of the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and the Oleika Shrine of Lexington. He served as President of the Wilderness Trace Shrine Club in 2005.
Survivors include, daughter, Paula and husband, Dicky Ledford; two sons, Todd and wife Jennifer Adams and Mark and wife Amy Adams; eight grandchildren, Jody, David, Candace, Jonathon, Jessica, Amber, Montana and Maximus; eight great-grandchildren, Aaron, Carter, Kaylee, Chloe, Cooper, Dani Lynn, Landon and Mackenzie; two sisters, Violet Rogers and Beverly and husband Steve Langford; two brothers, Roger and wife, Ida Mae Adams and
Mike and wife, Tammy Adams. Ahost of nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Houp and three brothers, Freddie, Larry and Kenneth Adams.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel. Ministers will be Bro. Eddie Dye and Bro. Dan Gutenson.
Burial will be in Grove Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Casey County, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at McKnight Funeral Home with a Masonic Funeral Service at 7 p.m. on Thursday during visitation.
Pallbearers include, Victor, Gary, Greg and Barry Rogers, Danny, Rodney and Ricky Adams and Steve Langford.
