Simpson wins 4-H Achievement Gold Award

Delaney Simpson, daughter of Gina and Steve Simpson, earned a Gold Award, one of the highest awards possible in Kentucky 4-H, last weekend.  Delaney is a junior at Boyle County High School and an active teen leader in Boyle County 4-H.

The Kentucky 4-H Achievement Program rewards 4-H youth throughout the state for setting and accomplishing goals in leadership, communications, community service, and mastery of life skills. Only 30 of the more than 200,000 youth enrolled in Kentucky 4-H annually earn this prestigious recognition. 

Simpson’s outstanding record of 4-H achievement includes being a Junior Counselor at 4-H Camp after attending as a camper since age 9; serving as president of the local 4-H Teen Club; active participation in Teens v. Food, Change of Heart, Teen Art Board, and the Washington D.C. Inaugural Leadership Program; and serving Kentucky 4-H this past year as a member of the State Teen Council.

Gold Achievement winners receive a full scholarship to 4-H Teen Conference on the University of Kentucky campus June 12 – 15, 2017, and an $800 scholarship towards attending National 4-H Congress Conference, Nov. 24-28, in Atlanta.
