Laurel M. Coleman

1937-2017

Laurel M. Coleman, 79, went home to his Heavenly Father on March 6, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Rice Coleman.

Laurel proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Matsushita and Napa Autoparts. He was a member of Junction City Baptist Church.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He loved UK basketball and spending time with his family.

Laurel was born March 31, 1937, to the late Rosco and Maude Coleman.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Russell, Donald, Billy, Eva, Lydia and Norma.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeff (Elisha McGlure) Coleman; and daughter, Donna (Lee) Horner, both of Harrodsburg; three step-daughters, Karen Douglas of Nicholasville, Connie Wilson of Moreland and Vicky (Ed) Parker of Moreland; one sister, Marcella Sowers of WI; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Phil Reed. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday. A guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com.
