Meeting

Architectural Heritage Board — special called meeting, Wednesday, March 22 9:30 a.m. at Danville City Hall public meeting room. Items on the agenda include: discussion of design guidelines update project; review letter of request from Southern Railway to seek donation of Old Depot.

This special called meeting is to discuss the Design Guidelines Update project for properties within the City of Danville historic district overlay. Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc. (CRA) has been retained by the City of Danville to assist with this process. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for property and business owners within the historic district, as well as interested community organizations and the public, to learn about the update process and provide feedback regarding the design guidelines (both non-residential and residential), their use, and items that should be considered as the guidelines are revised and updated. No changes are being made to the guidelines at this meeting. Rather, this is a first step in gathering community feedback about the guidelines, which will be considered as the update process moves forward. A draft update document-anticipated to be completed in April 2017- will be made available for review upon its completion and presented during a subsequent meeting. If you are unable to attend this meeting but would like to provide comments regarding the design guidelines, they can be sent to Bridgette Lester at the City of Danville at blester@danvilleky.org.
