Photographs are courtesy of Ronnie Logue. Our featured pets this week are Honey and Marcus.
Honey is a sweet 1-year-old dilute calico. She was surrendered due to her owner’s move to “no pet” housing. Honey has a precious face with pretty green eyes. She has an endearing personality. Honey likes to talk to you with little chirping noises. She loves attention and doesn’t hesitate to come to strangers. Honey would love another chance to find a special forever home where she will provide lots of love and companionship.
Marcus is a cute and lively mixed breed dog. He appears to be between 1-2 years of age. He may have some lab, shepherd and Boxer in his background, but that is just our best guess. Marcus was a stray, brought to the humane society by a citizen concerned for his safety. Marcus is friendly and energetic. He is medium size weighing about 35 lbs. Marcus would make a great jogging buddy and faithful friend if you decide to make him a member of your family.
Support our Shoes for Paws fundraiser by bringing your gently worn used or new shoes to the humane society by March 31. Collected shoes will raise money to help care for the DBCHS animals and the shoes will be going to people in need in developing nations. Besides the humane society there are shoe collection boxes at Farmers National Bank, Fort Knox Federal Credit Union, Chase Bank, Ephraim McDowell Wellness Center, Workout Anytime, Danville Bike and Fitness and Maple Tree Gallery.
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
