Sarah Frances Ramsey Roe

1925-2017

Sarah Frances Ramsey Roe, 91, of Stanford, KY, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Ephraim-McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

She was born March 28, 1925, in Madison County to Albert and Ella Moore Ramsey, both of whom preceded her in death. The widow of Willie Roe, she was a retired sales clerk, having worked for Newberry’s Department Store and Bluegrass Hardware and was a member of Grace Fellowship in Stanford, KY. During her lifetime, she had traveled extensively and she enjoyed quilting in her spare time. Most of all she loved her family.

Sarah was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Alden Roe and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Willie Sue Smith (Marvin); daughter-in-law, Catherine Roe; grandchildren, Damon Smith, Christian Gosser, Jason Smith, Sylvia Craig, Benny Wayne Smith, Jimmy Roe Morris; and step-grandchildren, Katherine Eaves and Donald Roe. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren, Emily Smith, Jordan Smith, Caleb Gosser, Bethany Smith, Landon Smith, Zoe Smith, Jackson Smith and Joshua Craig.

Funeral service for Mrs. Roe will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Vola Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6–9 p.m. Wednesday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, 1110 Barnes Mill Road, Richmond, KY.

Pallbearers will be Damon Smith, Jason Smith, Jordan Smith, Caleb Gosser, Larry Burton, David Craig and Landon Smith.
