Head-on collision sends two to hospital

Two women were sent the hospital following a head-on collision Tuesday evening.
According to Danville Police, at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, Laura MacDonald, 31, of Lexington, was driving east-bound on Lebanon Road in a 2013 Mazda 3 when she attempted to turn left in front of Amanda Marsh, 30, of Danville, who was traveling west-bound in a 2012 Nissan Rogue.
According to police, the vehicles collied head-on in front of Heartland Veterinary Clinic. Emergency crews treated both drivers on the scene and transported them to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. The extent of their injuries is not known.
As a result of the accident, Lebanon Road was closed in both directions for about 45 minutes while crews cleared the scene.
