Dear Editor,

We would like to express appreciation to the Danville Public Works Department. Recently, this department has spent several days working to restore the natural areas along the newest section of our community’s developing trail system located adjacent to Clarks Run creek. 

Danville Public Works Department, under guidance of Tom Byerly, has removed badly overgrown bush, honeysuckle and other invasive plants that over time have choked out the native vegetation. This good work makes the entire area much more attractive to walkers, joggers and bikers using our new shared-use trails, and also makes it feasible to re-plant this area with native flowering shrubs and trees.
