Mae Elliott

1947-2017

Mae Elliott, 69, of Danville, passed away Thursday at Lexington Country Place. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elliott. Mae was born August 28, 1947 to the late Floyd Herron and Olavine Hadley Gillock. Mae worked as a Nurse’s Aide for the Harrodsburg Nursing Home, worked for the Butternut Bread store for many years, was a caregiver for the elderly, and was of the Baptist faith. She loved being apart of the VFW Post 3634, where she was a lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary, past President, treasurer for five years, and past 10th District President. Mae loved her family, playing BINGO with friends, and being a member of VFW Post 3634. Surviving are a daughter, Louise Curtis (Jeff) of Hustonville; a son, Kenny Holt of Stanford; four step-children; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four brothers: Hollis Gillock, Larry Gillock (Brenda), Herlin Gillock, and Dean Gillock (Anna); two sisters, Vina Marks (Dave), Wilma Owens (Bob) and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Shirl Gillock and a sister, Shirley Ann Shoopman. Funeral services 11AM Monday, March 27, 2017 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Welcher officiating. Burial in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 6-8PM. Pallbearers are Tim, Chris, Jonathan, Mike, Tyler, and Joe Gillock.www.prestonpruitt.com
