Toliver student Jack Erwin explains some of the features of the Media Center in the new wing of Toliver Elementary School.
Led by guides Jack Erwin and Lilla Walter, students saw all the aspects of the new section — a media center, cafeteria, multi purpose room, offices and classrooms.
Fourth- and fifth-grade students will move into the new wing first, so that the third floor of the school can undergo renovations.
In the summer and fall, the second floor will be renovated as will the gymnasium, which will be unavailable to students. In the winter, the first floor will go through renovations.
The Toliver Intermediate School will open in August of 2018 for students in second through fifth grades.
Preschool, kindergarten and first-graders will attend the Hogsett Primary School, currently the Hogsett Elementary School, beginning in the 2018-2019 school year.
Tours of the new Toliver facility will be available in the spring of 2017. More information will be available on the Danville Independent Schools’ social media sites.
A video of the tour can be seen on the Danville Schools Facebook page, complete with student tour guides, at www.facebook.com/danvilleschools.
