David “D.J.” Lannum

1933-2017

David Julian “D.J.” Lannum, 83, of Danville, passed away Sunday, April 02, 2017 at home. Born Friday, November 24, 1933, he was the son of the late Robert Newton “Dick” and Georgia Smith Mann Lannum.

He worked as a personnel manager at Certified Brake Parts, manager at Pioneer Vocational Workshop, had been a car salesman and was a Sgt. in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Era. 

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Hammontree Lannum of Danville; son, David L. (Traci) Lannum of Berea; daughters; Nan (Kevin) Smith of Stanford, and Linda (Gary) Devine, of Harrodsburg; grandchildren, John (Courtney) Devine of Lexington, Clay Devine of Harrodsburg, Hagen (Stephanie M.) Lannum of Garrard County, Brandon and Daniel Lannum, both of Danville, Zak (Carrie) Young of Perryville; great-grandchildren; Tyler and Jaclyn Devine, Brayden Corbitt, Eliana Lannum, Addiley Kendrick, and Tucker Mosley. 

Funeral services for D.J. will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 06, 2017 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Rev. Jr. Fields. Burial will take place 9 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2017 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full military rights by Caswell Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 05, 2017 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home.
