Becky

Becky is a very pretty light gray tabby with white markings. She is probably about 4 years old and has a calm demeanor. Becky was a friendly “neighborhood stray” and was brought to the humane society so she could have a better life. Becky gets along with other cats and is a low maintenance girl that does not demand constant attention. Can you give Becky the loving home that she deserves?

Neil

Neil is a sweet lab mix boy that is a little over 1 year old. He can be a little timid at first meeting, but he responds well to one-on-one attention. Neil was a stray, but his owner did not come forward so Neil is ready for a fresh start. A home where he will get consistent handling and training would be ideal. Neil is sure to blossom and be a loving and loyal companion in his forever home.

April 9-15 is National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week and we wish to honor the great work done by our own animal control team in Boyle County. Debbie McCowan and John Hambel are the officers in the field and Dan Turcea is the director of Boyle County Animal Control.

Most of the animals our animal control personnel deal with are friendly but they also encounter frightened, sick or injured, and sometimes temperamental and unpredictable animals. All must be handled with the safety of the animals, the officers and the public in mind. We’d like to extend a big “thank you” to our animal control officers and acknowledge the valuable contribution they make to pet safety and for their service to the animals and to our community!

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
