Caroline M. Collins

1939-2017

Caroline M. Collins, 77, of Crab Orchard, passed away Thursday, April 20th, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Hospital in Danville. She was the widow of William Houston Collins, Sr. Caroline was born in Stanford, KY on August 13, 1939. She was a daughter of the late William Shirley and Pearlea (VonLinger) Tillett.

Caroline was a member of the Philadelphia United Baptist Church. She loved to fish especially for bluegill and shellcrackers. Her favorite place to fish was the old Broughtontown Lake before its closing. Caroline loved and cared for her family deeply.

Survivors Include daughter, Mary Lee and husband Joe Murphy of Stanford; son, Rusty Banta  and wife Becky of Frenchburg, Ky; son, Willie Collins  and wife Jennifer of Stanford; brother, William “Bill” Tillett; brother, Hurtson Tillett and wife Sherry; sister, Mary Louise Murray; brother, Dewey Tillett; brother, Phillip Tillett  and wife Liz; seven grandchildren, Winona, Angie, Samantha, Danny, Kevin, Gea Ann, and Isabelle; and 13 great-grandchildren

In addition to her husband and parents, Caroline was preceded in death by grandson, Tyler Banta; two brothers, James and Ray Tillett; and great-grandson, Hunter Childers.

Pallbearers include Phillip Tillett, Danny Herrington, Jr., Terry Murray, Phillip Tillett, Jr., Doug Hopkins and Brian Tillett. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Smith, William Childers, Keith Denny and Harold Ping.

Funeral service 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dan Gutenson. Burial willl be in the Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at McKnight Funeral Home.
