Kay Arnold tends to chives and comfrey in the Mary G. Akin Kitchen Herb Garden at Constitution Square Friday morning. The garden has been run by the Garden Club of Danville for around 10 years and is located on the same spot where an herb garden for Grayson’s Tavern was located in the early 1800s. Today, the garden produces many of the same “authentic era” herbs that would have been grown there in the early 1800s. “We’re just getting it up and running for the summer,” Arnold said Friday as she mulched, weeded and pruned.
