Rigsby completes basic training
U.S. Air Force Airman Rachel R. Rigsby graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
Rigsby is the daughter of Michael D. and Dorinda N. Rigsby of Danville and is a 2012 graduate of Danville High School.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Campbellsville University honors local students
CAMPBELLSVILLE — The following local students were recently honored during Campbellsville University’s 58th Annual Honors Day program.
Named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for 2016-17 were: Sarah Beth Hunt and Taylor Schroeder, both of Danville.
High honors: Benjamin Kendrick of Danville; Rodney Kidd of Lancaster; Mary Moore of Liberty; Josiah Robbins of Burgin; and Tanith Wilson of Junction City.
Honors: Kayla Breitenbach of Danville; Olivia Hall of Bryantsville; James Keltner of Liberty; and Lauren Sheperson of Perryville.
Also, Kayla Breitenbach of Danville was inducted into the JT Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society at Cumberlands.
Rachel Pingleton of Parksville received the Physics Award.
Honor society
Eastern Kentucky University — Katherine Land of Lancaster, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society.
