Officer involved in collision

A two-vehicle collision involving a Danville Police officer occurred at 2:44 a.m. Wednesday, but no one was injured.

According to the Danville Police Department Officer Adam Wilson was stationary at the red light at the intersection of Hustonville Road and U.S. 127 facing north on Hustonville Road. A 2000 Chevrolet van being driven by Carla R. Denny of Hustonville was traveling north on Hustonville Road. Denny told officers that she saw the police car sitting at the red light but couldn’t stop her vehicle in time and collided into the rear of the 2011 Dodge Charger operated by Wilson.

No one reported injuries and both cars were towed due to being disabled.

Denny was cited for failure to maintain insurance, and no other charges were filed. Sergeant Chris Wentz is the investigating officer.
