Officer involved in collision

A two-vehicle collision involving a Danville Police officer occurred at 2:44 a.m. Wednesday, but no one was injured.

According to the Danville Police Department Officer Adam Wilson was stationary at the red light at the intersection of Hustonville Road and U.S. 127 facing north on Hustonville Road. A 2000 Chevrolet van being driven by Carla R. Denny of Hustonville was traveling north on Hustonville Road. Denny told officers that she saw the police car sitting at the red light but couldn’t stop her vehicle in time and collided into the rear of the 2011 Dodge Charger operated by Wilson.

No one reported injuries and both cars were towed due to being disabled.

Denny was cited for failure to maintain insurance, and no other charges were filed. Sergeant Chris Wentz is the investigating officer.

Two charged with drug offenses

Two Danville residents are facing drug charges following an investigation Tuesday of a narcotics complaint at 305 Caldwell Street, apartment 3.

According to Danville Police, at 3 p.m. officers found two people in the residence and a subsequent search found marijuana, methamphetamine and several items of drug paraphernalia.

Tiffany Baker, 34, who resides at 305 Caldwell Street was arrested along with Michael Brock, 40, of Danville. Both were arrested and taken to the Boyle County Detention Center on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of meth. As of Wednesday afternoon both were being held on $7,500 cash bond each.
