Concert

Dr. Albin Whitworth, minister of music and worship and organist at Deer Park Baptist Church in Louisville, will present “A Night with Albin” at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. Sunday May 21. Dr. Whitworth will be playing the Moller organ and Steinway piano, leading worship choir and will ask for selections from the congregation. A reception will follow the concert.

HUSTONVILLE — Charity First Church of God, College Stree in Hustonville, is having the southern gospel group Godsent singing at the 11 a.m. service on Sunday, May 21. Pastor Marvin Hatton and congregation invite everyone to attend. 

Fun times and food

Our Savior Lutheran Church, 285 Hill’n’Dale, is having a “Fruitful Fun” event featuring games, crafts and activities for children and adults from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 23. Meal and all supplies will be provided. Call (815) 675-6044 for more information. The next Fruitful Fun event will be Tuesday, June 27 from 6-9 p.m.

New Journey Baptist yard sale, stock sale

BRYANTSVILLE — New Journey Baptist Church in Bryantsville will hold a second yard sale and sale of the remaining stock in the old Dollar Plus that is now the church on Saturday, May, 20. The sale begins at 8 a.m. Proceeds will benefit the church and a missionary. Items for sale include the former store’s coolers and refrigerators. New Journey Baptist is located next to Subway off of U.S. 27 in Bryantsville.

Missionary Day

Hope Full Gospel Church will be celebrating Missionary Day, on Sunday with a program at 3:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Mondel Hunter of House of Glory, Somerset. Dinner will be served after the morning service. Rev. Casey Curtis is pastor. Everyone is invited.

 

Women’s Day

St. James A.M.E. Church, 124 East Walnut St., will celebrate Women’s Day on Sunday, May 21. The 11 a.m speaker will be minister Sharon Johnson. The 3:30 p.m. speaker and guests will be evangelist Theresa Payne and congregation from Eunice Church of God in Columbia Ky. Rev. Ralph B. Smith is pastor.

Women’s Day service

Second Street Christian Church will have Women’s Day services at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Speaker will be Dr. Darrick Briscoe of First Baptist Church in Danville. Dinner will be served after the 11 a.m. service. Pastor is Dennis Miller.
