Square dance held Saturday 

Mainstream & Plus Square Dance will be 7-10 p.m. Saturday at Gathering Place, 569 Jean Drive in Danville. The caller will be Kristy Williams, and line dancing will be included between tips; a $5 donation per person will be collected at the door.

The Wilderness Trail Rod Run will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Wilderness Trail Distillery, 4095 Lebanon Road. The time was incorrect in the May 13-14 weekend edition.

Registration is 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. People’s Choice voting ends at 2 p.m. People’s Choice Awards will be announced at 3 p.m.

Family Services announces quarterly report 

The Family Services Association of Boyle County Inc. recently released its quarterly report, outlining how many people were served in the area according to its mission. From January to March, 305 total individuals received direct financial assistance; this includes 113 children under 17 and 55 seniors (55 and over). Referrals to other agencies by the association include a total of 58 people; this includes 18 children under 17 and 5 seniors.

Family Services provides short-term financial assistance to those experiencing a temporary financial emergency. We also assist clients in identifying other programs and services that can contribute to their financial stability on a long-term basis. Boyle County Board of Education — 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18 at the Boyle County High School library. Items on the agenda include: consider various maintenance, services and insurance bids; consider auditor contract for 2017-18 school year; consider creating positions for next school year; consider principals combining budgets for all schools for the 2017-18 school year; consider tentative budget for next school year.

Danville Parking Regulation Hearing Board — 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 25 in city hall public meeting room. Items on the agenda include appeals of citations and staff report.

Danville Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau — 9 a.m. Monday, May 22 at Grayson’s Tavern, 105 East Walnut St. Items on the agenda include: Ben Nelson, EDP Chair with RKG update; EDP/CVB contract agreement for communication services; executive director’s report and 2017-2018 budget.
