A fire broke out at a home at 315 Baughman Avenue in Danville Friday morning.
The Danville Fire Department was called to the scene at about 5:30 a.m. when a passerby reported seeing flames coming out of the window.
“The fire department arrived a few minutes later and there were heavy flames coming out of one of the bedroom windows,” Fire Marshal Doug Simpson said.
The roughly 1,400-square-foot home was unoccupied, and had been for quite some time, Simpson said. Firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly, he said, and no one was injured.
“Crews did a good job,” he said. “The fire was mostly contained to one area.”
The home sustained heavy smoke, heat and water damage. At press time, the cause of the fire was undetermined and the fire remained under investigation.
