UPDATE: As of 3:50 p.m. June 4, this boil water advisory has been lifted.
A boil water advisory has been issued for about 250 Danville water customers in the area of Little Needmore Road and Kemper Lane, east of Danville city limits.
“Line maintenance” is the reason for the advisory, according to the city.
Danville replaced a pressure-reducing valve and 15 feet of water line, according to the advisory.
“Although no contamination has been confirmed, we recommend: Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for three minutes and let it cool before using, or use bottled water,” the advisory reads. “Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.”
