Phillip Ray Belcher Sr.

1951-2017

Phillip Ray Belcher, Sr. (Big Phil), 65, of Danville, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at his home. He was born on November 24, 1951 in Boyle County to the late Ray and Louise Coffman Belcher.

Phil owned and operated Belcher Upholstery Company for many years. He loved riding his motorcycle in the country, spending time with friends and family, and loved UK Basketball.

Phillip was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Phillip Ray Belcher, Jr. of Danville; a daughter, Fran Belcher of Junction City; former wife and companion, Alice Belcher; three grandchildren: Chelsie Davis (Eric), Logan Smith, and Dylan Smith; and two great-grandchildren: Jaydon Davis and Ezra Davis. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Brenda Belcher Mattingly.

Funeral services 12 Noon Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Dr. Steven James officiating. Burial will follow in Parksville Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 9, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Tim Montgomery, Clint Smith, Frankie Laswell, Al Cox, Alfred Cox, Kerry Wooten, Jason Sparkman, and Dave Woodward.
