Ruby Virginia Nelson Roller, 94, died Monday, July 3, 2017 in Danville, KY. She was born in Marian County on April 23, 1923 to the late Basil and Pheobie Hays Nelson. Ruby was a retired Nurse, having worked at the Kentucky State Hospital. She was a member of Salt River Baptist Church. Ruby loved her family, her church and Bible study. She also enjoyed listening to country music, square dancing, and bingo. In addition to her parents, Ruby is predeceased by her husband, Howard Davis “Buck” Roller; one son, Lonnie T. Roller; and two brothers, WO Nelson, and Robert T. Nelson.
She is survived by one son, Parley Davis ‘PD’ (Nancy) Roller of Stanford, one daughter, Patsy (Barry) Harmon of Danville, and one brother, Kenneth (Peggy) Wilson of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will at 1 pm, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Salt River Baptist Church. Rev. Dave Evans will officiate. Interment will be at Perryville Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 am – 1 pm prior to service on Saturday. Memorial donations are suggested to The Salt River Baptist Church.
