Laswell was searched as she entered the facility — standard practice for inmates entering the jail, according to the sheriff’s office. In her clothing and in her body cavity, deputies found heroin, pills and crystal methamphetamine, which resulted in charges of promoting contraband in the first-degree, according to the sheriff’s office.

Laswell also faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia; having a prescription not in its original container; tampering with physical evidence; first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (drug unspecified); first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine); first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (opiates); first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (heroin); and rear license not illuminated.

Laswell was being held in the jail on a $25,000 cash bond Wednesday.
