Breakfast fundraiser
STANFORD — Bethel A.M.E. Church of Boneyville, is serving an all-you-can eat breakfast as a fundraiser from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26. The church is located at 755 Spoonamore Lane in Stanford. Breakfast is $10. Delivery is available for Lincoln County residents by calling Sue Gooch, (606) 669-1464.
Message in song
God’s Hometown Church will have the message in song at 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 27 at the church, located in the Stith Family Center in Junction City. Snacks will be served after the singing. Everyone is welcome. Bro. Donald Lear, (859) 854-9293.
Church 150th anniversary
PERRYVILLE — First Baptist Church, Perryvillle, plans a two-day celebration Saturday and Sunday is observance of its 150th anniversary.
A gospel Songfest will be 5 p.m. Saturday at the church and feature Witness of Bardstown, Sherman Chapel Choir of Lebanon and First Baptist Church Church of Danville.
The Rev. H. Yocum, pastor, will begin the Sunday service at 11:15 a.m. Lunch will follow the service.
Guests for the 3 p.m. service will be the Rev. Roland Butler Jr. and members of St. Bethlehem Baptist Church, Pembroke, Kentucky.
The Amelia Sleet Burton Colored Schoolhouse will be open between the morning and afternoon service. Donations for the 150th celebration will help finance the old schoolhouse renovation project.
The public is invited to all services.
Back to school, back to church celebration
Salt River Baptist Church, 5125 Perryville Road, Danville, is having a “come as you are” celebratory cookout from 6 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30 for everyone. Delicious food and games for everyone will be provided.
Join us as we kick-off our new Wednesday night schedule of activities for children and youth that will begin on Sept. 6 from 6 – 7 p.m. Supper for the children will be provided each week. We will have biblical Christ-centered teaching, crafts and are starting a children’s/youth choir.

The Danville Seventh-Day Adventist Church is hosting the “From Wanting to Winning Your Weight Loss Program” 6:30 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Sept. 7 through Oct. 5.

Backyard community ministry
Gethsemane Baptist Church is having a backyard ministries community outreach event from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, August 27.
