Dorothy ‘Gran’ Curtsinger Caldwell

1932-2017

Dorothy “Gran” Curtsinger Caldwell, 85, had a very important appointment on Saturday August 26, 2017 at 7:23 a.m., to meet her Lord. Gran was born in Casey County, Kentucky on July 3, 1932 to the late Delbert and Myrtle Pendygraft Curtsinger. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, a son Roger Caldwell, and her siblings.

Gran was a member of Parksville Knob Baptist Church and work for many years with Barnes Cleaning Service at Whirlpool. Among the family, her Sunday Fried Chicken Dinners were the very best. Her great-granddaughters cherish the memory of receiving Mason jars from Gran to catch fireflies. She enjoyed reading and listening to WDFB radio.

Surviving are five children, Linda Caldwell, Judy (Donnie) King, Barbara (Arnold) King, Carolyn (Jim) Evans, Danny (Joyce) Caldwell, and 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and another very soon to arrive.

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday August 29, 2017 at Walden Funeral Home Perryville with Terry Orcutt officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Monday August 28th at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mark Cook, Todd King, Trena King, Charlie Caldwell, Kelly Kholer, and Cary Bacon.

Honorary bearers will be Gran’s remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Alzheimer’s Association.
