Consider the options on 911

Dear Editor,
I don’t like the way Boyle County government is handling the issue of moving to 911 dispatch. They’re being arrogant and arbitrary. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are wrong. And the Danville government’s approach isn’t any better. They seem to say, “We know best and money is no object.” They also seem in a rush to spend money for new equipment and emergency medical dispatch.
We all want the best service possible, but money is an issue. Rather than dismiss moving to Bluegrass 911, Danville should take a deep breath and adopt its normal approach — hire a consultant. Then, when the results are in, make a considered decision on how to handle the issue.
