Pets of the week, Sept. 12

Photographs are courtesy of Ronnie Logue. This week our featured pets are Becky and Harley.
Becky is a pretty 3-month-old tabby kitten that was found as a stray. She was a little unsure and scared when she first came to the humane society, but is adjusting nicely and learning to trust. Becky has big beautiful eyes and that just beg for love and attention. With a little more TLC and a place to call home, Becky will make a great little friend and soul mate for many years to come.
Harley is a handsome 10-month-old mixed breed dog. The first thing to catch your attention are his large, stand-up ears. He must have magnificent hearing judging by the size of his ears! Harley is a sweet and affectionate boy. He was surrendered to the humane society by his first owner due to lack to time to care for a pet. And it is obvious that Harley did not get much training, but it is not too late and Harley seems like an intelligent and willing fellow if given the chance. Do you have the love and the time that Harley deserves to help him reach his full potential?
PetSmart Charities is sponsoring a National Adoption Event this weekend. The Danville-Boyle County Humane Society will be participating at our adoption center at the Brannon Crossing PetSmart on U.S. 27 just north of Nicholasville. We will feature many adorable kitties, puppies and dogs in need of loving forever homes and ready for adoption into approved homes. Come and visit our animals at PetSmart in Brannon Crossing on Saturday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Sunday from noon-5 p.m. If you are considering adding a new pet to your family, this will be the perfect opportunity to find your new best friend.
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
