Boyle County Board of Education — 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 at the Woodlawn Elementary School library. Items on the agenda for board action include: consider final plans and specifications for the new Boyle County Middle School construction project, pending approval by the Kentucky Department of Education; consider cost estimate sheet for the project; consider authorization to advertise for bids for the construction project; consider breakfast and lunch al-a-carte prices for the 2017-2018 school year.

Also: consider proposals and authorization to bid for network cabling upgrade; consider creating daily bus route to the McDowell Wellness Center beginning Oct. 2 for the remainder of the school year ($1,000); consider creating a full-time special education instructional assistant at Junction City Elementary and a part-time after school program instructional assistant; consider changing transportation/bus driver trainer/vehicle maintenance position to vehicle mechanic job description and salary schedule.

Also: consider changing school technology integration specialist day position at Junction City Elementary School to instructional assistant for the remaining school year; consider board appointed certified evaluation appeals panel members; consider working budget for the 2017-2018 school year.

Other agenda items are: after school program late fees; new adjunct instructor certificate application; procedure update; amended extra service salary schedule; changing salary schedule/position days; contract and agreement, grant; and superintendent’s travel.
