This week our featured pets are Charlie and Shelby.
Charlie is a handsome long-haired gray tabby. He’s about 1-year-old and was left behind when his owner moved and luckily a neighbor came to Charlie’s rescue. Charlie has a great personality! He will follow you around like a puppy and he wants to be involved if anything exciting is going on. Charlie has been neutered and had his shots and testing. Charlie does great with all people and other cats and is ready to be a loving member in his new forever home!
Shelby is a pretty 4-month-old hound mix puppy. She has a beautiful light brindle coat and big brown eyes that will draw your attention. Shelby was brought to the humane society with her mother and littermates because her owner was moving. Shelby is very sweet and friendly and an active girl. Like most puppies her age she requires an investment of time, training and love. In return, Shelby is sure to bring much joy and happiness to her new family!
How would you like to play an important part in helping homeless animals find their forever families? The Danville-Boyle County Humane Society needs volunteers to assist our staff at our adoption center at the Brannon Crossing PetSmart just north of Nicholasville. By donating a few hours of your time on Saturday or Sunday afternoon you can make a big difference in the lives of our homeless animals. This work is both fun and rewarding. Find a friend and volunteer together and you will get to spend time with our adorable animals and at the same time you will be saving lives. For more information you can contact our PetSmart coordinator by emailing humanevolunteer@gmail.com or call the humane society at (859) 238-1117.
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
