Ephraim McDowell Health sponsoring free health screenings on Oct. 14

Ephraim McDowell Health is sponsoring a free health screening from 8:30 am. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Danville.  Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are recommended. Appointments can be made by calling (859) 236-6964 after 4 p.m. between Oct. 6 and 13.

 Health screenings that will be offered are cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, heart rate, body mass index and stroke risk scorecard. After the screenings are complete, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their results with a licensed health professional.

 Participants should not eat 12 hours prior to their screening if they would like to have the blood test that gives them a full lipid panel. This gives the participant detailed information including their HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose.  Medications except for diabetic medications may be taken with water.

 The screenings are open to the public for anyone 18 years of age and older.
