Boil water advisory

Danville issued a boil water advisory for approximately 20 customers from Chrisman Spur to the corner of U.S. 150 on Monday morning and will be in effect until further notice. Water was cut off to install a pressure release valve and replace 10 feet of line. “Although no contamination has been confirmed, we recommend: Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for three minutes and let it cool before using, or use bottled water,” the advisory reads. “Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.”

The Danville Water Department is working to repair the line. The advisory is in effect until further notice. More information is available by calling (859) 238-1241.
