Casey

Casey is a handsome 6 ½-month old orange tabby. Casey is a very friendly and laid back fellow. He was brought in as a stray, but he has adjusted beautifully to his new surroundings. Casey loves everyone and gets along wonderfully with other cats. He has been neutered and tested and is ready to go to his forever home. If you are looking for a loyal companion and full time friend, Casey would be a great choice for adoption.

Stevie is a cute 3 ½-month old mixed breed puppy. He is mostly black with some white markings. Stevie may be part hound and part Chihuahua. He is finer boned and may be a small to medium sized dog when full grown. Stevie is sweet and cuddly, but also has a playful personality. He would be a great addition to most any family that has the time and love to give to this precious little fellow.

A reason that we often hear for the surrender of a dog or puppy to the humane society is, “he’s just too wild and he won’t listen to me”. This is not the dog’s fault. It is caused by lack of training and attention from the owner. Puppies are cute and sweet, but as they grow and their energy levels increase they need to learn acceptable behaviors. Teaching your dog basic commands, socializing him to new people and places, giving consistent discipline plus plenty of exercise will yield a well-mannered and balanced dog. The result is a happy dog and a happy owner!

To help keep dogs and puppies in their homes and also help our recent adopters get off on the right foot, the DBCHS offers a monthly introductory obedience class. Our next class is this Saturday at 12:30pm. The class is held inside the service department at the Stuart Powell Ford Dealership on the 127 Danville Bypass. If you would like to attend please pre-register for the class by emailing dbchs@bellsouth.net or you may call the Humane Society at (859) 238-1117. Space is limited so please sign up by Friday at noon. We hope to see you on Saturday.

Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
