Reynolds uses a kettle passed down from her husband’s (Jim Reynolds) parents whose mother also used to make the soap. After boiling to a set consistency, the mixture is poured into molds where various oils and scents are added to form cakes of soap.

Photos by James Morris/photos@jmorrispics.com Cam Willams said he had been helping with the festival since he was a child. Williams is currator of the Old Farm and Equipment Museum at the Forkland Community Center, which has on display old tools and farming implements used in the early part of the 1900’s. Willams said he has always been a collector of old tools and said some of the items were his but most were donated to the museum.
