Roy Barnett Bonta

Roy Barnett Bonta, 79, of Danville, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at his home. He was born in Boyle County on September 7, 1938 to the late Henry and Ina Christine Newby Bonta. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Henry Bonta, and a sister, Martha Kinzel.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Crain Bonta; a son, Clay (Mary Beth) Bonta; two daughters, Patti (Gary) Chidester, Ann (Rick) Carter; one brother, Ray N. Bonta; one sister, Sue Demeras; eight grandchildren, Jessica (Byron) Wall, Hannah Galloway, Ricky Carter, Emily Carter, Kinley Bonta, Jacob Bonta, Sarah (Brad) Wall, Amanda Chidester; and seven great-grandchildren, Titus, Daulton, Amarae, Caleb, Julian Jackson, Addison, and Ava.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2017, The Showroom, Danville, KY. Rev. Chris Brummett will officiate. Pallbearers will be Byron Wall, Ricky Carter, Emily Carter, Hannah Galloway, Jessica Wall, Clay Bonta, Kinley Bonta, and Jacob Bonta. Honorary pallbearer will be Scott Galloway. Interment will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2pm-6pm, Sunday, October 15, 2017, at The Showroom on Lebanon Road. An online guestbook is available at www.stithcares.com.
