Danville High School’s Class of 1967 celebrated its 50th class reunion over the weekend of September 15 and 16, 2017. Certificates were awarded to the Least changed Woman – Polly Webster Stokes, Least changed Man – Quentin Scholtz, Most distance traveled to attend reunion – Diane Dianne Dorsett, Least distance traveled to attend reunion – Bobby Trumbo, Most divorces – David Spragens, Most grandkids – Carl Sinkhorn (13), Youngest child – Mike Powell.
WKU homecoming runner-up
Cathryn Ellis, of Danville, was named second-runner up as Western Kentucky University’s Homecoming Queen on Saturday, Oct. 14. She is the daughter of Charlie and Jana Ellis and is a Spanish and Communication Studies major. Ellis was sponsored by Omega Phi Alpha and Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Beard graduates from military training
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Taran W. Beard graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Beard is the son of Kelly R. Wilson of Yosemite, Ky., and Donnie O. Beard of Columbia, Ky., and step-son of Jerry B. Wilson of Yosemite, Ky.
He is a 2017 graduate of Casey County High School, Liberty, Ky.
