Danville-Boyle County Recreation Commission Board — 5:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 1) at City Hall. Agenda items include treasurer’s reports; presentations from Park Mast Plan and Boy Scout Project; old business concerning volleyball court update, dog park additions, parking/paving designs at basketball courts; and disc golf signage request and December meeting date.

Boyle and Mercer County Joint Jail Committee — 12 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7 in the Mercer County Fiscal Courtroom. Agenda items include approve minutes, Jailer’s report, Brandstetter Carroll report, Shepherd’s House IOP update, employee point system, hiring of part-time employees, surplus junk equipment, October financial state and claims paid; and next meeting date.

Perryville City Council — 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Perryville Community Center. 

American Legion Auxiliary District 8 — 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 at  Stanford Post #345. 

American Legion Auxiliary Perryville Unit 301 — 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6 at the Perryville Christian Church on 3rd Street.

Nature’s Thyme Herb Group — 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 at the Garrard County Extension Office for our annual potluck and planning meeting. Bring a yummy something and join us! We will be discussing the schedule and meetings for 2018 at the Garrard County Extension office,  (859) 792-3026.

Chili supper at Butchertown

BUTCHERTOWN — The Butchertown Community Center will hold its annual chili supper on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 5:30 p.m. There will be chili, hot dogs and sandwiches and an auction. All proceeds go to the community center.

Fort Harrod Horsemen to give presentations during November meeting

Fort Harrod Back Country Horsemen will enjoy member presentations and  discuss upcoming events during its November meeting.

FHBCH member Debbie Craddock, the featured speaker, will share details about her recent trip to the western U.S. during the FHBCH November meeting Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Mercer County Extension Office. Charmaine Kern will discuss her lifetime interest in horses during the member spotlight.

The meeting will include planning for the annual Black Friday ride, which will be held at historic Arcadia Farm in Lincoln County, and the group’s annual Christmas party in December. The membership will also discuss charitable contributions and activities for the New Year.
