May Elizabeth Privett

1931-2017

May Elizabeth Privett, age 86, of Junction City was called by the Lord and Jesus our Savior to her Heavenly Home on November 21, 2017. She was born in Lincoln County, KY to the late Ike and Mattie Wright McCowan. 

She was a loving mother and extraordinary homemaker. Elizabeth was also a foster mother to numerous children through the years that were fortunate enough to have her loving arms to fall into. She was a member of the Church of God. 

Survivors include her husband, Hester Privett, 3 sons: Larry Privett (Connie) of Danville, Tommy Privett (Leah), Mark Privett (Kelly), both of Junction City; 4 daughters: Linda Sims (Paul) of Lexington, Rita Privett of Junction City, Teresa Shanks (Marvin) of Richmond and Renee Applin (Chris) of Junction City; 4 Grandchildren: Dustin Privett, Eric Taylor, Sara Sims, and Caleb Childers; 2 Great Grandchildren; and a very special sister-in- law, Valerie Bell-Privett. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Jesse McCowan, Ed McCowan, Ike McCowan Jr., Thomas McCowan, and Joe McCowan. 

Pallbearers will be Chris Applin, Stan Covey, Eddie McCowan, Michael McCowan, Justin Saylor, and Caleb Childers. 

Service will be at 2 pm, Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Pastor Gary Yocom with burial in Moreland Cemetery. Visitation is 12-2 pm, Monday, November 27, 2017. Guestbook at www.wlpruitt.com.
