KSP releases local checkpoints

The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, which provides coverage for Madison, Clark, Estill, Lee, Owsley, Jackson, Mercer, Boyle, Lincoln, Garrard and Jessamine counties, will be conducting periodic traffic safety checkpoints at locations approved by the Kentucky State Police Policy and Procedures Manual.  These checkpoints will be conducted in an effort to enforce the traffic laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. 

Effective immediately, the following locations are approved Traffic Safety Checkpoint Locations for the Post 7 District. At these checkpoints troopers will be targeting impaired drivers, checking for properly restrained adults and children and observing for any other safety violations.

Safety Traffic Checkpoints for Boyle include: 

• Old U.S. 127 at Airport Rd

• Ky. 37 4 miles south of Junction City

Safety Traffic Checkpoints for Garrard County include: 

• Ky. 954 at Copper Creek

• Ky. 1295 at Madison Garrard County line

• U.S. 27 at Gilberts Creek

Safety Traffic Checkpoints for Lincoln County

• Ky. 39 at U.S. 150

• Ky. 501 at Angle Ridge

• Ky. 198 at Ky. 698
